DOMI eBike Guide is produced by a small distributed team of riders, mechanics, and route testers. We do not run a large newsroom; we run a focused testing operation.
Core team roles
- Lead tester: responsible for long-term commuter tests, hill climbs, and battery aging checks.
- Route editor: responsible for GPS-tracked route guides, surface notes, and seasonal risk warnings.
- Technical reviewer: responsible for motor and battery articles, BMS checks, and safety-related corrections.
Testing fleet
- Cargo longtails used for family and school-run testing
- Commuter hybrids used for wet-weather and winter range tests
- Folding and compact eBikes used for multi-modal and train-plus-ride scenarios
- At least two comparative bikes active at any time for head-to-head range and drivetrain tests
How we test
We record date, rider weight, assist mode, tire pressure, payload, and weather for every major test ride. Range tests are done from full charge to cutoff, not from manufacturer estimates. Brake and drivetrain checks are done at service intervals, not just on day one.
Our current long-term test fleet includes daily-commuter setups for urban durability, touring configurations for multi-day routes, and cold-weather setups for winter battery behavior. Each bike stays in the test pool for a minimum of three months or 1,000 km, whichever comes first.
